farcry bugs with ati radeons

i got a ati radeon x700 pro 256 mb card, using 4.12 ccc driver, and 1.3 patch of farcry... i get sound looping echos and stuttering... and i get missing textures on things most noticible when using binoculars...

is there any way to fix the sound at least? i dont care that much about the missing textures they do not impare my gaming only the sound probs.
like when i kill a bad guy his gun sound remains, his m4 is still going off brrt brrt or when i push a barrel over it still makes the sound of it pushing zzt zzzt...

and now the music is stuttering and my cd is NOT scratched.
i have updated sound drivers for my cmi audio.

oh ya, and when underwater there is like checkerboard effect around coral reefs models.

i dont know where the farcry forums are i think they died. :/
my comp specs are in my sig so i know i got a good computer to run the game in paradise rendering mode. very high settings... all works like a charm but the missing textures and sound stuttering and looping of none existant dead characters and or ambient objects. happens less online but none the less still happens.

this should be in the game forum or the ATI forum.

I would also delete farcry, reinstall it, and NOT put the 1.3 patch as it can still be buggy.

take out the graphics card...make sure that there isnt dust in there or anything.

Put it back in.

run drivercleaner and delete all your drivers with ATI. Reinstall the 4.12s.

whatever tahts a really poor order but basically delete your drivers, clean your drivers, delete farcry, reinstall farcry, and see what happens.

I would say to update your sound drivers and chipset drivers, but in this case the checkerboarding sounds like a bad card.

how about other games? Are they alright?

all games work fine... valve fixed half life 2's sound stuttering... and texture errors.
ill get some screen shots of the checkerboards they are black and white and only underwater looking at the coral reefs.

the flickering textures is also in 1.1 of farcry. 1.3 farcry was released for a reason. has many fixes and works just fine, the sound stuttering and looping of moving barrels or gun firing of dead characters is also in 1.1 or 1.0 of farcry.

on my old comp i had a nvidia geforce fx 5500 and the same problems were with that card.
so its not based on reinstalling windows or drivers or anything its game wise. i went and talked to some farcry people and they said their working on fixing the crap but its gonna be a long time before they patch.

my comp is new from xmas so i need not reinstall drivers or clean the video card.

I hate to say it but this sounds more like a problem with you rather than a problem with the GAME.

You've had this happen twice and yet most people dont have this happen at all.

Do you disable certain services?

maybe your PSU isnt so good(likely)

What kind of drivers do you use? Beta? Standard? Maybe some DNA or Omega or TechConnect drivers?

another possibility, however unlikely, is that the textures are somehow corrupt. Now normally I'd say "reinstall it stupid" (without the stupid) But you've had this happen on two different machines. Maybe theres a scratch in just the WRONG place on that CD to screw you up. Do you have a friend that maybe has farcy and you could borrow the CD? You could just use your CD key and nothing would be illegal or immoral.

Lastly...speaking about illegal: IF you downloaded a copy(and I'm not saying you have) then it is probably a corrupt download and you would have to reaquire it(hopefully by buying it).

I had this same problem with the 1.3 patch, I recomend you do not use it as it seems very buggy.

sigh... heres a few pics of the textures glitches... minor but apparent.
you will see they only happen at the bottom of the model... as i get closer they disappear.

there... now if i could only get a demo avi or .wav to let you hear the stuttering and sound looping. the cd is new btw, and my friends have the same probs im having.

obviously it is indeed 1.3 patch but it also happens in 1.0 and 1.1 of farcry, we all like 1.3 patch, it works just fine other then textures flickering and missing, and then the sound bugs.

-edit-
oh btw, i render in paradise mode... for the sound i use doppler and high setting, and no i turned off eax 2.0. the settings are on very high, except for ultra high water setting. but it also happens in medium settings so theres no way around it. my comp is new and in perfect working order so its not the comp its actually the game. half life 2 and doom3 work just fine at ultra high settings.

I have got the same texture errors, I think it's just the game. Also the sound of an M4 firing remaing after you kill a merc and the overall sound stuttering are known problems. Check http://forums.ubi.com/eve/ubb.x?a=cf...102&f=34210466 for the official Far Cry forums.

ah well all my other games work just fine... its just farcry that has minor probs... farcry is a nice game with nice gameplay and visuals but the aiming is insanely sad. they need a 1.4 patch to not only fix bugs but to fix that dang aim... wigglying around n stuff is annoying i shoot like 15 times dead on target and none hit... even in prone mode.

oh btw, while im on the aim thought... what the flying fuck hell does lazyweapon do?
by default its set to low none?

lazyweapon makes its accuracy change the longer you fire it(kinda like counterstrike) rather than just have all bullets go straight. Its suppose to be more like real life with recoil and all that.

I've had similar texture problems with farcry. And I do think that they are driver problems but not everyone has them so I can't confirm.

As far as your sound goes, make sure EAX is disabled! That causes major problems for me even though it was suppose to be fixed. Sometimes the gun noise will get stuck though and you have to change weapons.

I dont think it actually effects accuracy though. Just the swaying of the weapon as you walk/run.

VuLLs, you are not alone! I got the same problems with it. Sound stutter (mild but still annoying cuz my frames drop to like 10 with a 9800 pro...) Yes, I get that on the coral reefs and if you want another bug which some people get, go towards see weed underwater and turn on your flashlight
