Ok, after reading all that stuff about PureVideo junk in Nvidia cards, I got hold of those HD demos from M$ windows media website. When running those, I get CPU utilization between 50-60%. That looks pretty high. What do others get, if anybody tried ?
X800XT PE P4C 3.2G 2GB Ram @ 2-2-2-5 All those were HD WM9pro videos with 5.1 sounds. WMA (enabled or disabled dunno) but I went into the registry and changed all occurances of DXVA_WMV from 0 to 1.

they have dissabled the WMV acceleration termperarly with 4.12 drivers. their working on a fix for it, and also waiting for microsoft to release a patch.
see wmv acceleration ONLY works with media player 10, and so far it has a BUG and we are as well as ATI are waiting for them to patch it.... just like we had to wait for MS to release media player 10 to use the feature

Well i'm not quite sure what my problem is...
Radeon 9000 Pro AIW with CAT 4.9's on 2600+ Thoroughbred B runnign 2x166FSB not to mention synced Memory (TIGHT timings) Playing through windows Media player 9 results in 100% usuage with an average of 13fps (that's well over 50% video dropping)... not to mention zero audio.. Through ATi's Media Ceneter, i get the full 24fps... but somewhat dropped sound.. still 100% usage.. However, Running my 2500+ @ 3000+ similare system. 9800 Pro with Omega 90's, my audio is fluent and full (thanks to my digifire i think).... however, i get 3fps (98% dropped frames? ) and it completely stalls at times with a full 100% dropped frames. 100% usage.. I've tried upgradeing to windows Media Player 10 and i've turned off and on the WMV Acceleration option in the Omega Drivers. IMO, either i've broke something, or it's not available on any of the video cards i've got on hand. Also, 9800 pro with WMV on, although the HD video results in crystal clear video, other WMV videos are garbled green/red/blue messes
