Cat 4.12b file in Start/startup....???

After installing the 4.12b with CCC, I noticed that it adds a shortcut in the startup folder of my program listings called, 'ATI CATALYST system tray'.

I disable the system tray icon immediately upon installing ATI drivers, but that shortcut is still in startup. Now, does anyone know exactly WHAT that is there for? Will it hurt anything to remove it? Will any "features" stop working or anything if I remove it? In other words, is it safe to delete that shortcut?

Sorry if this is covered in a thread somewhere, I did try to search and didn't spot anything about this.

Thanks Spyre, I knew I could count on you for a quick response.

I have the 4.12b's installed on 2 of my friend's PC's and didn't want to remove that until I knew for sure that it was safe to do so, since I can't monitor those PC's for them.

Thanks again.
