Problem with Smartgart

Okay. I was having a problem running World of Warcraft on my laptop so I installed the omega drivers. It fixed the problem but I get piss poor FPS. I didn't think much of it just thought it was the fact that it is a laptop. Then I tried to play a movie and the only way it plays smoothly is when I move the mouse (crazy).

I actually had this problem before when playing movies when I had omega but lived with it. I read the omega faq and it mentioned stuttering and making sure smartgart was activiated. I have no smartgart tab under the drivers settings. When I run "advanced smartgart" it doesn't open.

Heard mention that some video cards don't support it and the like. I can just go back to my compaq drivers but I'd like to play WoW. Problem was in WoW the textures were quilted, they didn't fit the landscape. But now this problem with movies is bugging me.

And why don't I have a option for Smartgart. Thanks for any help and feel free to destory my newbieness (new to the forums).

Compaq 2199US Laptop
Windows 2000

Radeon IGP 320M

UPDATE:

Okay, .mov play but .mpg and .avi DO NOT (well, if I move the mouse constantly they play). Now if I go back to Compaq drivers I do not have this problem. But on Omega I do.

Thanks for any help.

Do you have smartgart in compaq set of drivers? If so try to download Omegas again and try reinstall it one more time How about mobo/chipsetdrivers? Do you have them installed? Is there any issues in hardwarelist in the system? (any yellow (!)exclamationmark in the list?
