Problem with Catalyst 4.10

I didn't notice this until the other day, but I can no longer watch video's in WMP (windows media player) or winamp. I was not able to view video for .wmv or .mpg files, but I could hear the sound playing. I was using the 4.10 bundle with the CCC. I uninstalled and went back to the 4.9 drivers and everything is working normally again. Is there a setting in the CCC that I need to be looking at for this or would this be a driver related problem?

Well... That would work, but one problem. I had windows media player 10 installed before installing the 4.10 drivers and I still have the same problem. I will stick with the 4.9 driverset and submit an email to ATI.

I have the same problem. Lost the ability to play mpgs and who knows what all else in WMP 10. Kind of a bummer too, because I saw a pretty decent increase in FSP for FS2004 with the Cat 4.10s.

Fortunately, with HyperOS, I could clone my Main XP partition to a spare one, and install the 4.10's there. So, I can still take advantage of the 4.10's, but have to re-boot any time i want to run FS2004, and then back to the 4.9's for the rest of my surfing. etc.

And yes, I do have ALL upgrades/new drivers, and such.

Naaa... I am not wasting my time trying to figure out what the ATI driver broke. It is obviously the driver because reverting to the old one made the movies play perfectly.

Yea... call it what you will. You suggested to install WMP 10. I have it installed. The thread in the forum suggests trying to manipulate a few settings. I don't feel like manipulating anything. I am not lazy. Trust me. I am an IT. I work on a helpdesk that supports over 325,000 users. I fix computer problems all day every day. I am not about to use some "workaround" until the next driver comes out that will cause me to have to go back in and revert all of the settings because it is broken again.
