3dmark03 and cat. 4.9

Has anyone had any weird results from the 4.9s and 3dmark? I just built a new p4 system, with a 3.0E, 512MB of ll RAM, on an Asus p4p800-e deluxe board, and I'm getting lower scores with the 4.9 cat's now than I did with my old p4 1.8GHz Dell. I'm using the same card, a Radeon 9700 Pro, so I think the score would be much higher. It was about 4600 on the Dell, and now with my new Asus-based system, I'm only getting around 4200. I don't notice any real performance problems, except Doom 3's a bit choppy sometimes (I attribute that to my lack of RAM), so I don't really care. I was just wondering if anyone else is getting bogus results like that.

System Specs

IIRC the 4.9's are not as good in 3dmark03 as the 4.8's were. also '03 is mainly geared towards your graphics card, if you try 3dmark2001se i'm sure you'll notice a much larger jump in numbers.

I got only slightly lower in 3dMark03 going from 4.8 to 4.9

4.8 = 2446 avg
Omega's based on 4.8 = 2440
4.9 = 2442 avg

BUT, doing the CPU test in 3dMark03, I got the following
4.8 = 404 avg
omega's based on 4.8 = 401 avg
4.9 = 465-468 avg

Thats a 15% increase. Weird!
