Agh!
I love the Omega drivers, but why oh why does he force you to install RadLinker now? I don't like that crap, I don't need it and it just clutters up my rightclick menu's. Before I used to jut install the drivers, no atitool (already had it installed), no radlinker and whatever else there is included. Then I'd just overclock from ATItool instead. Anyway, that's my rant. Hope the next version will give us a choice again about RadLinker... |

I doubt it, as the drivers are now more based and centered around RadLinker (check out the readme). As far as your right click menu, try the microsoft powertools and you can change what is in your right click menu, to get rid of all those unwanted things. I believe it is called TweakUI, check out the microsoft site.

See most of the reasons here:
http://www.driverheaven.net/showpost...&postcount=161 As for the right click menus, how many programs you have installed the do the same? Like Winzip, Anti-virus, etc... The Radlinker right click menus are NOT intrusive and do NOT take any speed away rom the right click, like other programs do, and they provide a very FAST way to customize your games without the need to OPEN other applications, use any resources (which take a way speed) or going to the ATI CP to do it. |

Don't get me wrong, I'm not bitching. I love this update, driver wise and the updates in general. I have even donated.
I just hate radlinker and used to be glad I didn't have to install it. And yes I have winzip, winrar etc installed and guess what... i remove ALL the rightclick extensions. The only rightclick addition I have is ONLY for .exe files to open them in OllyDbg, everything else always gets removed. Perhaps an option to remove the rightclicks in the next version? I dunno if not I'll have to start using something else. Thanks for reading. |

Have you tried using radlinker at all? It's the most usefull tool for ati cards that I've ever come across...it's got all the tweaks and can oc and do application specific settings...is the right click thing the only thing that bugs you?

he does bring up a good point though of making radlinker a choice rather then having to uninstall it after
(just my 2 cents) |

The next version will install BOTH, Radlinker and the Drivers in just ONE pass, so if you uninstall one, both will be removed too.

ok a few things... i think radlinker is a very good choice for the options in the CP. however i think that the popup menu options should be choice for the users. ... basically if they dont want radlinker functions, remove that stuff... but make sure it installs the options for the CP sliders.
also this is often a big problem, people have no idea what radlinker is or what it does , or hell people dont even know how to use sliders. alot of omega users are noobs. what can i say, its true. but anyways a help file or popup ballon;s are needed to help with telling dumb users what options are what. or they could just type radlinker in google and search for the homepage which shows everything. but anyways.... this doesnt pertain to any of you guys, as i wouldnt say that to you so a help file and a link to goto either an html version on the hard drive or a windows help file will do the trick, aswell as popup ballons that C++ or vb can do easy.the radlinker guide is here for those of u that want quick access. Basic RadLinker Guide also annother note, if u dont like it dont use it.... install CCC after installing omega, if thats what u like.

As you may know, I'm not the Author of Radlinker, it is ChrisW, and he has been a great part of the Omega Drivers development, but as many of us, he has a real life to take care of. Just like me, he does this in his spare time and for FREE, so I can't put pressure on him to do EVERYTHING you ask for. I would really love to please ALL the suggestions you make about my drivers or about Radlinker, but that can't be done for one or another reason, good things are about to come, but you have to have patience.
Know something; all things that I add or change in my drivers are there for a GOOD reason, as I wouldn't like to harm anyone's PC, since my credibility and honesty are in jeopardy here. Everything that you see in my drivers have been tested by me for QA, and if I see something irregular or I have my doubts about it, it won't make it to the drivers, that simple. Just be asured, everything that you see in my drivers, has the Omega seal of approval. |
