SMARTGART Not Detecting 8x AGP

Hello everyone,

Recently i had to reformat my HD, and after i re-installed windows, i get this problem. No matter what version of the Catalyst drivers i use, after the installation and the reboot Smartgart displays that my card's AGP is Off. I'm running a Sapphire Atlantis Radeon 9800 Pro 256MB, on an Abit IC-7 Max3 motherboard.
This isn't the first time this has happened. What i did to solve the problem the first time was, install Cat 3.7's, and after about a month i installed 4.8's and it detected everything fine. And about two weeks ago i reformatted, and installed directly Omega 2567 drivers. No problems there.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to solve this, i would really appreciate it.

*I have also tried using Omega's Advanced SmartGart options. Still same outcome.

Thanks.

If you're using Windows 2000, you may have problems because it's been incompatible with AGP before. Well, at least when I tried it on my old GeForce 3...

If you're using Windows XP, then yeah, try reinstalling chipset drivers like MIG-31 said.

I just experienced the same problem several mins ago. The solution is very simple: reinstall the latest GART drivers.
