MEABeemer is on a distinguished road

I have a small problem on my little brothers rig (my old rig) wich is a:

Asus TUSL2-C - Intel Pentium !!!-S 1400MHz/512KB - Cooler Master Aero 7 Lite - Kingston 512MB 133MHz CL2-2-2-5 - ATi Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB DDR - Creative Labs SoundBlaster Live Player 1024 - Promise Ultra133 TX2 - 3Com 905B-TX - Western Digital WD400BB - Western Digital WD200BB - Western Digital WD200AB - Western Digital WD200EB - Pioneer DVD-106S - NEC ND-2500A - Iomega Zip 100 ATAPI - Sony MPF920-E - InWin Q500 - TGR FV-300F20 - iiyama Vision Master Pro 400 - Logitech MX510 - Logitech Internet Navigator SE - May Flash Super Dual Box - 2x Sony PlayStation DUALSHOCK 2 - Philips Vesta PCVC675K - Cambridge SoundWorks FPS1000 - MSI Bluetooth MS-6967 - E-Tech 4-Port 10/100MBit Router - ADSL 2240/416KBit - Microsoft Windows XP Pro SP2 - (All with latest software, driver, bios and firmware update & configured for #1: best quality & #2: best performance, NOT tweaked/tuned/modded/overclocked!!!)

When installing the "ATi 8.07" drivers I get this error (wich I myself didn't get on my own rig with the same software installation!):

Tiltle: "Severe"

Text: "Setup was unable to complete the installation. Try to setup your display adapter with a standard VGA driver before running setup."

Options: "OK"

I did what it said but it didn't work.

Tried everything with "DriverCleaner 3.3" but that didn't do the job either.

Anyone got an idea?

Sometime this error happens to me,too, but DriverCleaner always do its job very well, may be you should try ATI Uninstaller Utility, I hope it work Find it @ _www.ati.com
PS: A small trick, try to use system restore to reverse Windows and try to uninstall previous driver correctly
