Extended Resolutions for Notebook Display Not Working with Omega 2.5.67 Drivers
I recently purchased a notebook and was happy with pretty much everything except for the maximum resolution. Maximum resolution is currently set to 1280x800 (it's a 15.4 widescreen display). I heard of all the performance increase and overclockin capabilities of the OmegaDrivers, but what really attracted my attention was the extended resolutions. I installed them as directed with DriverCleaner and it didn't work. MultiRes isn't showing any extended resolutions either. I couldn't find any other problem like this in the forums or the OmegaDriver's site. I'm currently using a 15.4 widescreen display with BrightView Technology (same thing as Sony's XBRITE) and an ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 128MB graphics card. If anyone could help me out it would be very much appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help.

Two issues: First, your laptop display (any monitor, really, but it's even more rigid on an LCD) will have a maximum resolution that you can't exceed no matter what the software on your system does.
Second, if you are talking about using an external display, then the Omega drivers should indeed work. You have to tell them to override the default settings. Do this by Opening the Display Properties, selecting the display you want to alter, click on Advanced, select the Displays tab, click the Monitor button, uncheck Use DDC information, and set the new maximum resolutions and refresh rates. Again, no settings here can enable a monitor to display a resolution higher than its physically capable of displaying. Good luck, Colin |
