When can we expect a fix for TV out issue? (black bar)
The "big black bar at the bottom of the screen" issue when overscan is enabled on the TV output.
ATI introduced it in the 4.5's, still broken in the 4.6's and now still broken in the 4.7's.
All works fine with the 4.4's and below.
Thanks in advance

Card type... Who made it..... Any mods.... how does the bar appear.. does it simply completely block out the entire bottom part.. or does it simply cut out a chunk of the bottom.. but still leave a little sliver left?.... I tried overscan on my tv with a AIW and a 9200 as well with the 8500le i have.... i haven't any issues....
BTW... what method are you using to connection to the TV? S-video.... coxial... Component... RCA?

Well, I have a R9600XT Sapphire Fireblade. Connecting to a TV with coaxial or S-Video gives a black bar on the bottom, a.k.a, the picture is not centered. All fine till 4.4's.
ATI confirmed an issue with TV-out with OGL or D3D games not centered on TV out, but this is happening with TV output also. Overscan mode seems to be affected. Theatre mode was working fine with 4.5 and 4.6. Did not try 4.7's, would really like to, but that black bar really bothers my eyes.

What tv's would take advantage of overscan.... i'm unsure of the use.... is the tv not setup correctly with the screen at the correct dimensions?

If overscan is not enabled there is a small black border around the whole screen, overscan "scans" the picture over the sides of the screen, thus no black border around the screen. That was the case until ATI released the 4.5, 4.6 and 4.7 drivers, No problems whatsoever with the 4.4's.

Strange... i guess i've never ran into a tv that had a border issue... as every tv i've come across ither has the border reguardless of having overscan enabled (as the tube just can't spit out photons beyond it's reach).... or the box around it fits it just right giving you zero borders..... if overscanning does the trick.... i guess it does the trick.... Sorry, i'm of no help

A little update : 4.7 with overscan enabled, you still get the bat at the bottom. But in 4.5 and 4.6, when playing movie in theatre mode, things are back to normal. With 4.7, black bar stays with overscan enabled. There is a new button - named Video mode, appears on displays - TV - adjustments when TV output is enabled and watching some movie. Undocumented. Personally, I like overscan mode better.

As I said, not documented anywhere. But improves display a bit. I still find overscan better from my point of view. I appreciate the new stuff, but let me choose what I want.
About the issue, it has been adressed in 4.5' notes but only for D3D and OGL. No updates since.

If you turn off and then turn on overscan while the movie is playing it will work in 4.7.
Any update on when this will be fixed btw?
