Omega 4.6 KOTOR Corruption?

Hi all,

Just stopping by for a question. I recently bought a Sapphire Radeon 9800 Pro (R360). And recently purchased KOTOR. When I play the game, sometimes the area textures load as all black. And sometimes during the duration of the loading process (Zones, etc.), my game totally shuts down, and goes to the desktop. I am not overclocking. It isn't a temperature issue, because it happens in the middle of the day as well as around 2:00 AM (Computer intake right near window which *is* open). This is really starting to bug me, because I absolutly love this game. It really spoils the RPG element, because I have to quit the game, and restart it, for the problem to persist. I have the latest drivers for my Video Card, Motherboard, and Windows Update. Here is my PC Specs:

AMD Athlon 2500+
Giga-Byte NForce 2 400 Ultra
Sapphire Radeon 9800 pro 128MB (R360 Core)
DirectX 9.0B
DVD-Ron Drive
CD-RW Drive
6 Case Fans (2 intake/outtake for PSU, 2 intake, 2 outtake)
20GB Harddrive

Thanks for your help. May the Force be with you!

20GB HDD?

The time of day has nothing to do with your temps. You have to check them via bios or thermal probe. What makes a difference is the quality of both the thermal interface material and the heat sinks you have installed. The amount CFM of air in an out of your case your room tempature are all factors. Also check your voltages....

I have a 9600xt and I have a similar problem I’m using ATI’s drivers but i' also useing a slightly under rated PSU (generic 350) down from my qulity 400W.

I'm nearly finished with the game on the rig showing in my sig.

First, be sure to get the 1.03 Patch for the game. www.3dgamers.com

I've had only a few CTDs during the time I've been playing. (Thanks for Manual Save Option!!)

I had some texture corruptions until I turned up the Aniso setting. It defaults to 0, I think. I have it at 8 or something like that now.

I'm also slightly overclocking my video card and CPU.....which 'might' account for the few CTDs....but this only happens every few nights or so.

I'm using Omega's latest drivers for XP.
