exclamation texture precashing

hi all.
is there a way to disable texture precashing in an ati card? i have the ATI-9800pro , i know that its posible to disable this in the nividia cards, but i couldnt find this option in the ATI drivers or within the 3Dprof tweaker.
i ask this cause i play il2fb flightsim and i know that disabling this option in the nividia cards stops the sttutering in the game caused due to the precashing of the memory.
thanks , ledzep.

I don't think that’s a card option. Precaching it is game option, it's set in the game it self, it's not a video card option on Ati or NVIDIA cards. Least that’s the way I understand it.

according to my friends that use nividia they get the "texture precashing" option when they use the "gforce tweak utility".

ROFL this is the utill you speak of http://content.guru3d.com/index.php?...cetweak&menu=0

note the "Announcement (updated 28th Sept '02)" The future development of the GTU is cancelled for an unknown time (maybe forever). "GTU 3.2 is not compatible with the 29.60 (or newer) drivers." a very old utill....

But here is what I want you to read in the last release of that utill ( years ago)

"*removed the following settings (due to missing information on these settings):
texture precache
scene synchronisation "

I thought we did precacheing in done in the game has nothing (what so ever) to do with the cards drivers...

ATI or NVIDIA or S3 etc doesn’t matter it's a "game" option mean the game maker put it in the game. the options are found in the game the controls for using it are in the game assuming it has it for example unreal tourney use precaching... there is a option in the config to turn it off ... it's enabled by the game maker by default to help ensure smooth game play on slower systems.. it also helps prevent laggy/jerky gameplay

I'm doing some searches useing google and lycos on this $9.99 game

I'll post if I find anything

The "texture precaching" is a game option not a driver option.
It is how the game deals with textures specifically games that use the Unreal engine.
If you spell it right you can search google for more information.

- improved texture precaching, removing a few early hitches
