Why Omega drivers lag up my lap-top?

I have a new lap-top (P4 2.8 GHZ, win xp pro) and ATi Mobility Radeon 9000. The problem is that whenever I install any Omega driver, it slows my PC down considerably. The installation process goes ok, but after restart every window etc. loads very slowly.

Games slow down too, but graphics draw like they should. No flickerin, no bugging, yet very slow (this is also the case in Silent Storm game) Only the driver which came with the lap-top play ok, but the thing is that Silent Storm doesnt work with that. There the game runs perfectly with high FPS, but flickering and bugging appears

So if theres a solution that would make Omega drivers work correctly and not slowing down, I'd be very grateful.

The newest Omega 4.5's run poorly on all mobility radeons, and now even after a rollback the poor performance sticks for me So i am screwed.

Hopefully we will get a hotfix for it.

It seems that these new drivers sacrificed quality for fancy extras.

Re-install the latest AGP chipset drivers for your laptop MB, then check the Advanced SmartGart Options and make sure that at least AGP/PCI read are ENABLED.
