Omega 4.5 poor game performance
I got great 3dmark 2001 scores with the Omega 4.5's but in the Omega 4.4's i had a much smoother time playing Max Payne 2.
Any ideas why? Mobility Radeon 9000.

I seem to have the same problem as well but the most obvious to me is Far Cry. It drop from 40 fps to about 20 fps and sometimes even below 10 fps. The rest of the games seems much slower too but not so obvious to me as Far Cry

The 4.5 drivers improved my 3Dmark03 by 30 points, yet in Call of Duty, my performance seems to have decreased. Strange

well, 30 points in 3dmark03 isn't much of a difference. And Call of Duty is an OpenGL game and 3dmark uses direct3d. So it isn't so strange that you can have improved speed in 3dmark and lower fps in COD.

yepers
I have to dedicated testing rigs (with a r300 and a rv360) and i get increases across the board in all the above mentioned games and benchmarks.... but of couse thier both desktops and 99.5% stable (nothing can be perfict ) I dunno about laptops. What are you guys compairing your scores against cat 4.4/4.5 ? or omega 4.4 /4.5 or what?

This is comparing with the Omega 4.4's, it seems 3dmark runs great but the games performance is so very poor.
Its not really fair on everyone.
Now i even rolled back and i get lower fps than i should get by a lot in the 4.4's, so now i am running 4.5 again.
I always run omega driver cleaner and the other one and clean the rest out myself (everything ati..... or anything with xx at the end).

Just played Zero Hour and its slow like hell. Made me feel like I was using my old laptop. Its not smooth at all. With my current set up it should be anything like this.
I've also tried to installed the previous Omega driver, ie for Cats 4.4 but nothings changed. Its still the same so I have installed back the current Omega driver.

I just found out why the games I'm playing is so slow. It has nothing to do with the Omega drivers. I enable Cool and Quite and it drop the performance of my pc big time. After disabling it, everything seems to be running fine

Well that would sure effect the performance. If I am correct the Cool and Quiet feature reduces the CPU speed in an attempt to reduce power consumption and the temperature of your CPU

30 3DMark points falls within the margin of error I would say so not really any increase there. It also uses DirectX not OpenGL like CoD does

Yep, I am getting horrible performance with the new Omega's as well. Zero hour and Far Cry run like crap. Enemy territory crashes constantly, as well as CoD. I'm getting stuttering in a lot of other games. I switched back to the official cats and all is well again.

Drivers? What Drivers???

People, when you get LOWER speed than the previous drivers, and I mean a BIG difference, it always has to do with AGP support and hardware acceleration.
Try the following things:
1. Re-install the latest AGP chipset drivers for you MB. Many people forget to install these since they see windows is running fine, but is very important to install them, because sometimes, when changing drivers, windows de-activates hardware acceleration.
2. Look in the Advanced SmartGart Options and see if at least PCI/AGP READ are ENABLED, if all are enabled, the better.
Hope that helps.

Don't forget Judas' observation. He noticed stuttering after installing Omega 4.5s. His solution: re-install the Omega 4.5s straight over the top using the link in the Start Menu -> Programs -> Omega Drivers -> ReInstall Omegas

I dont have this problem anymore as I stated from my earlier post but when I 'thought' I had it, I tried reinstalling the Omega drivers by the way mentioned above and by reinstalling from the .exe file. Both seem not to worked when I tried it.

Sorry for asking a silly question but what does it mean by AGP chipset drivers for MB?

That wasn't aimed at you neokenzo. It was an add-on to Omega's response. If anyone was running fine with pre-Omega 4.5 drivers and then see stuttering/slow-down in games after the Omega 4.5 install, first try re-installing the Omega's straight over the top and then investigate AGP chipset issues.
Sorry for the confusion.
