Cool! New Radeon Omega Drivers 2.5.44 (Cat 4.5 based)

Here they are folks, a little late because of the MANY changes that have been made to this release, but worth the wait.

What's New? (2k/XP 2.5.44)

* Based on the Catalyst 4.5 drivers.

* Updated the Omega version of RadLinker (1009), now the Profiler include options to enable TAA modes and to establish the desired TAA Threshold for D3D apps.
* Added and removed a LOT of tweaks, ATI changed some internal settings and some old tweaks won't work anymore from now on.

* Fixed support for Mobility 9700.

* Fixed the "Hibernation not working" problem in laptops.

* Added support for the Following laptop wide screen resolutions: 800x480, 960x600, 1024x600, 1024x480, 1280x600, 1280x768, 1280x800, 1680x1050, 1920x1200

* Re-enabled a desktop wide resolution: 1280x768

* Added an EXCLUSIVE new Omega utility which adds the ability to SWAP between the soft-mod and the normal driver without the need to re-install the whole drivers. (Thanks to Chris W, Author of RadLinker)

* Removed Artifact Tester 5 from the package. (Sorry Alberto)

* Included the latest version of ATITool. (Thanks W1zzard)

* Since the package has grown in size I will be distributing the installer in compressed CAB format to save some bandwidth, it must be decompressed using one of these tools (latest version): WinAce, WinRAR or WinZip. Then run the extracted file to start installation of the drivers.

That's all I can remember so far since many other things changed.

Download at my site.

Enjoy!

Darn, I just reinstalled windows, and checked the site like 10 minutes before it was online . Time to load Driver Cleaner hehe. Omega, you rock!

A suggestion to you to save bandwidth, make 7-Zip self-extracting executables. 7-Zip compression gives 15-60% improvement over RAR/ACE/ZIP archives .

The file is compressed in CAB format, this format compresses more than rar,zip or ace

The included version is the Omega version if that helps, no need to uninstall the full DC version, they work separately.

You make it even harder for me to be without a Radeon card for the time being. Had to scan the price lists once more while downloading these drivers, with no card to run them on.

7-Zip compression is not the traditional compression. It is not directly compatible with either of the existing formwats. Give it a try, and see how much you can save on space/bandwidth. I know CAB is pretty good, but I am pretty sure it can't compete with 7-Zip.

The thing is that I must distribute the drivers in a STANDARD format, so no one has problems decompressing it, if I select an exclusive format, I'm forcing everyone to download that program in order to use my drivers. Sorry can't be done.

Or you can make it a self-extracting archive .

Not trying to force anything on you, just as an example . Savings are not extremely huge, but still some.

I added the resolutions, but unfortunately I couldn't test them, I don't have a laptop, unless someone would like to donate one

No idea, don't have any HDTV near to test.

BTW, don't post using that color, it eats my eyes and it doesn't look good in the Truly Heaven forum theme.

Anybody try them with Bf- Vietnam yet?. Curious as to how they work. Using the beta 4.5's now and Bf never worked better. But I am a fan of the omega drivers and would love to be able to use them instead.
