the gamma is not fixed with cat4.5 even though it was with cat4.4 hotfix drivers. The ut brightness slider doesn't work with cat4.5 but did with cat4.4 hotfix

first of all, I am not talking about game gamma, neither UT4 or any other. I am talking about Ati drivers disabling professional Color/gamma calibration software as Adobe Gamma(part of Adobe Photoshop), which is rather crucial for work.
Furthermore. since a) in the release notes there is nothing about a fix of this problem and b) Spyre a very committed Beta Tester on the Rage3d boards confirmed this not to be fixed, I didn't even install the 4.5 because I see no reason to do so.
Apparently Ati still plans to fix it via an enable/disable setting in the control panel . that's what I was told last driver release.
Mind you, it is a problem since cat 4.2 and the decision to deliberately render color calibration useless(without even announcing or clearly informing beforehand) is imho completely nuts. Everybody who seriously does graphical work on his computer has to rely on such calibration software.

see if it was with games i'd know (i was answering to griswoold's claim) i'm not big on photo shop ...all though I have 7.0 and 8.0/CS to test on

...
let me go nudge my collage educated grahics desinger girlfriend and see what she says/knows
a google seach has me going now... I have the adobe loader etc looking at it now...

...
I'll look into it more later

well i'll be reading more on the problem and what your talking about in the beta forms...
also I'll look and see if it's mabe just adobe software or what is going on... this is one i'm not famular with...

but your telling me it works with like cat 4.1 and below and the 4.4 hotfix? though ...

edit NM ..... i know how to fix it

oh.. according to Ati its not a Bug , but a "feature" . as I said, they did that deliberately It is certainly not the fault of Adobe,
But in any case, thanks for your effort

I can confirm that colour management software doesnt appear to be working in the latest omega build (2551). Dont know if it is caused by ATI or the tweaks in the omega build. For now Im assuming that ATI hasnt included the previous "hotfix" in the latest catalyst. The previous build of the omega drivers that I installed (2544) seems to be working fine with my colourmanagement software, so I'll be using that one for a while :-).
