best way to upgrade omega drivers?
folks,
i'm currently running omega 4.2 drivers and have been holding off on upgrading to the 4.3 'cause i don't want to go through my usual hassles to upgrade. here's what i normally do:
1) uninstall omega setup files using shortcut installed by omega
2) in control panel/add or remove programs, uninstall multires, radlinker, and ati radeon omega drivers.
3) reboot. at this point the system is prettly clean and is running on the default winxp display driver at low res.
4) install new omega drivers
5) reconfigure everything (resolution, refresh rate, clock speeds, etc).
what i'm wondering is, is omega smart enough to let you just install a new set of drivers/proggies on top the old without creating a bunch of garbage? can i just do step one, to get rid of the old install files, then do 4, and have it pick up all my old settings?
thanks in advance,
joe
