GRRRR!! (help please!!)

ok, i'm not the most technically literate, so you'll have to excuse that. this is probably really simple to solve, but i've been looking everywhere, and i cant find a solution so far.

Intel 1.7 with built in gfx adaptor
windows XP
256mb ram
dirX 9 and newest ATI drivers

i recently bought a radeon 7000 64mb. i installed with no problems, but didnt notice any major difference in graphics quality. i only really play operation flashpoint, and assumed it would be able to handle that well. i started messing around with the settings to increase the quality, with no luck. my PC has always been slow once windows starts, so i started a new login, and lo and behold, flashpoint was running really well, and the entire PC seemed healthier.
until the next day when i tried to play the game and it wont even load. i dont think its related to the game, cos i tried the CoD demo and that wouldnt start either. it said "cannot load OpenGL" or something
i'm thinking its probably something to do with the onboard gfx set, i've heard that a lot of people have had problems with it. i just dont understand why it was working ok one day, but not the next
any help of ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks

give this a try.

first download driver cleaner 3.0. install.

remove control panal. don't reboot. then remove drivers(both).

reboot into safe mode and cancel the found new device.

run driver cleaner (ati) option. this removes. same for nvidia if your previous card were nvidia?.this cleans out any files left behind that windows does not remove.

once finished reboot.

in windows (admin) once again cancel the found new device.

locate the cats (drivers) .exe were saved on pc. reinstall then reboot.

hopefully this might help.

thanks for your help mate, i will try that out, see if any improvement. i dont know if this is significant, but when i tried to start the game, after a while instead of a black screen i got a "cannot create direct 3d device"
(or something like that) error message. i tried again and the game loaded to main menu, then locked up.

I think CoD Demo requires Pixel Shading or some other advanced feature that I dont think the 7000 has... Make sure its supported...
I know this isnt your solution, but it may play a role in the near future
