Problem with radeon 3d prophet fdx 8500 le

I have problem with radeon 3d prophet fdx 8500 le it crashes in 3dmark2001se and in 3d games.
It shows vertical lines or blank screen. It can run 3dmark2001se demo and some older games.

is it overclocked? Or have you modified the bios for it? I had the same issue with my hercules 8500 le. At one point uninstalling and reinstalling the catalyst drives fixed it.
