Ah, thanks, but does the inf file say "ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9600 PRO TURBO" ?

Quick question - Are the Fast Write, PowerPlay & VPU/SmartGart features available with your drivers or with Patje's Mod Tool on the 4.2 Cats?

The reason I ask is because PowerPlat didn't install on the Cat 4.2 on a desktop, I'm wondering if ATI was smart enough to figure out that it was not a laptop...

Thanks!

Your worried about the name displayed?you know what kind of mess that creates? It not worth the time it doesnt have to say "ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9600 PRO TURBO" or anything else long as it's supported!

IF YOU DEVICE ID IS IN THE INF.
IF YOU CAN INSTALL THE DRIVER
YOUR CARD IS SUPPORTED!

Thx T_N_C...I edited the post above, any idea as to the features?

I guess what I meant was will I lose any laptop - specific features by using EITHER Cat 4.2 + Patje's modder OR the Omega v 2522? I understand i need Fast Writes ON, just wondering if I can manually enable/disable it through the Omega drivers or Cat 4.2 Control Panel...

Thanks...

ATI FireGL X1-128 may be listed as supported, but the Omega's dont install correctly. A video .inf error is shown when installing. A manual update via device manager does install them, but OpenGL and SMARTGART are broken.

While it's simple to modify the Catalyst drivers to support the FireGL, it would be nice to be included in the Omega club

You do NOT need omega drivers installed to find your device ID. Just follow the steps in the first post. Then your card will be good to go for Omega drivers.

You could post your just in case but i've seen a dell and a median model, w/same device id. So it should all work

this is a 9500 pro custom modded from ocsystem.net (supposed custom bios) and has never worked with Omega drivers.

i wouldnt mind flashing the BIOS to one that is still OC'able if that would be easier. would it? which BIOS and program should i use? (im assuming my bios is the reason Omegas have enevr worked for me - even reg Cat's perform subpar compared to Sapphire's own drivers)

ATI Radeon Mobility M6

I have an Acer Aspire 1400 with an ATI Radeon Mobility M6 card,

the latest drivers for this card supported b Acer date from december 2001 , really need a new one.

Was hoping this driver would support it....would it?

If not, can this card be ubgraded in the computer? Or is it too attached to the MB and such.

Dudes

My little brother recently bought a new Medion-Pc, and it had a Radeon 9800 XXL in it. So, I thought: OK i'm gonna get that card, because I still had that (old ) Hercules Radeon 9700 Pro. Now I wanted to install Omega-drivers on this new card(of course ), but I realized within a few minutes that my card wasn't supported yet, because it was readen as a 9800 XT, and that had a huge negative effect in games like Farcry(my pc almost went crazy) . So my question is: can you fix this in your next version?

Just keep doing the good work, and I hope u can help me .

Btw:

Manufacterer(lol): Medion Radeon 9800 XXL
Chiptype: Radeon 9800XT AGP (0x4E4A)
