KOTOR and Omegas

I have use the omega cats since I found them online and have loved them but now that I play knights of the old republic I can no longer use them. Whenever I try to play KOTOR my game crashes every 20 mins if I'm using th omegas so latly I have been using standard cats to run this game. Someone please tell me if they can play this game with no problems using the omegas and if the new 4.2 omegas fix this.

When I was playing the game, when it was released, I did not have problems with the Omegas 3.10. I just updated the KOTOR when the updates came out. I got through the game twice with no problems when I updated the game...I hear there is a new update for the game, try that and see what works for you. Wish i could be more help...

hello. i began yesterday playing kotor patched to version 1.03 and i have omega driver latest version installed (2522). frequently i experience game lockups: screen goes black and computer freezes and need to be rebooted manually. Sometimes at the next windows startup it tells me that system has been restored due to a serious problem caused by video card drivers. is this the same problem of yours? does installing regular cat drivers solve it?

I use Omegas too, and I may be thinking of the wrong game but I seem to remember it wouldn't run with AA and AF enabled in control panel, I had to set it to application preference and set AA and AF in game if I remember rightly. Like I said, I may be thinking of a different game, but it's worth a try

Same problem as those mentioned above

With the cat 4.2 Kotor ran fine at 1024 x 768 if a little slow. I hear about the Omega drivers and try them out. Now I can't last longer then 5 minutes without Kotor crashing.

On the up-side for those five minutes the game runs alot smoother then it did with cat 4.2

I'm running Kotor1.03
The latest omega drivers
A powercolor 9600 pro
900Mhz Duron
128 MB ram
Winodws XP.

AA and AF are both set to application preference. No AA or AF is enabled in the game.

I've tried disabling Vpu recovery as mentioned in the other thread and still get the same results.

In the game I'm at Davaks house (after you beat the swoop race but before you leave the planet).

Any other information you guys need? Since Kotor is the game I'm playing right now, I'm probably going to go back to the 4.2 cat drivers. Shame since I really can notice a big difference for those few minutes KOTOR actually works.

kia, i think i solved the problem by turning everything off, and i mean everything! not only AA and AF but also shadows, etc. Seems that the game now works. I'll try using again AA and AF, cause according to me the problem is the shadows setting that is available since this version 1.03 of the game. I hope that a patch will come soon!

Thanks Pikenzu, but everything is already turned off.

I solved the problem by installing the previous omega drivers(2.5.14) and now everything works fine.
