The 4.2's didn't agree with my 8500 128DDR. I had to revert back to the 4.1's.

I detailed the games I had problems with in the official thread created by CatalystMaker......

I've tested a few random saved games of CoD and haven't had a crash yet.

Are you having this in MP, SP, after x amount of time playing, or what?

Always happens in the second mission, running across the dead cows camp with burning planes over my head, then freezes and i have to reset. This is happening since 3.7, every driver, every setting in ati cp and in game setting tested.

I know this is going to sound odd. Make sure that Winamp 5 isn't idle in the backround while playing.

I was getting horrible crashes in lots of games until I realized that WA5 hogs direct sound. When I closed it before playing, everything was great again!

Just a thought!!

Wertret,it happens to me too on the second mission.It's like clockwork,It doesn't matter if I stay behind in the bunker at the beginning or run with the other troops about 15 seconds or so into the mission, it crashes. What happens is the game freezes, then a split second later the screen goes black but the sound stays on for another 15 to 30 seconds,then the VPU recovery kicks in and the game crashes to the desktop.

This only started happening to me with the 4.1(omega) prior to that it ran fine.I dont have the game right now(lent it to my brother the other day) to see if the 4.2 fixed it though.

Reverend over on B3D boards mentioned yesterday something very simular about it crashing on him in an early missions too("pathfinder", "burnville") ,so you're not alone on this one. He said with aa/af on or off it crashes but last a little longer with it turned off.

yes, I've been having this same crash, but I have solved it by turning everything on the CP to performance, i know it isnt good but it works, havent passed from mission 2 yet anyway to say if keeps occuring ^^
