Smiling is on a distinguished road

EEK! Just thought of something

I have only a 300 Watt power supply, and recently ordered a 9700 pro, of which I bitched wasn't fast enough. Sence I have had the mainboard I am currenly using...specs below, I noticed that it takes about 7-10 seconds for the system to get video....

I press the power button and fans start spinning and such, but about 10 seconds later I see the post. Is it possible that some of the problems I've had, see high expectations post below, is from an underpowered system. I had the 10 decond delay the whole time, even when I was using my 8500, but now my 9700pro is receives power from the ps.

Is that 10 second delay common? If not could my "High Expectations" post and the delay be as simple as to low power.

Either way I just bought a 9800Pro, AthlonXP 2400, New Case w 450Watt ps (Case glows and has pretty glowing blue fans, Nice rip off of the Thermo-whatchamahoozit case) another generic ps!!!

Soyo Dragon Ultra Platinum KT-333
AMD Athlon XP 1800
512 MB PC2100
Maxtor 160GB Ultra ata133 HD
PowerColor 9700Pro
Generic came with Shitty case 300Watt PS

It could very well be the PSU. It could also be that you have your hard drives and monitor setup to 'sleep' and they need to 'wake up'. Disable any sleep or standy modes and see if helps.
