This is what I have:
Asus A7N8X Dlx , Atlon XP 2700, 1 GB Corsair Twin X 3200 LL, Maxtor 120GB HD ATA Win XP Pro I went to install my new Asus 9600XT today with hopes of using Omega drivers. I followed the procedure to uninstall my old Asus TI 4200 , by unistalling the driver and then going into safe mode and using Driver Cleaner to uninstall the rest of the files. I had downloaded the latest ( based on 3.10 ) and installed them and they seemed to install okay except that I got two Items in the unknown column of my device manager. When windows when looking for the drivers for these two items , they could not be found. I had turned off fast writes as the install instructions dictate. Could these two items be for a TV as the card has DVI and S-Video?? I uninstalled the Omega Driver, and installed the ATI Catalyst 3.10 with no probs....and no unknowns. Any ideas what these two items are that have no drivers...as I would really like to go with the Omega Drivers. |

The ASUS Cards need the ASUS WDM driver, so it should be on your driver cd...BTW Get rid of the ASUS

It doesn't require the Asus WDM drivers as I installed the ATI Radeon 3.10 reference drivers with no problems...
I am going to try uninstalling the ATI Control Panel and install the Omega drivers again , and hope that the initial install of the ATI drivers solve the unknowns. As for getting rid of the card, I just got it. Unfortunately the store where I puchase all my hardware, didn't have the Sapphire card. ( with the O/C memory) |
