This issue is around since Catalyst 3.10, but it's relatively easy to workaround/install; just run setup using compatibility mode set to "Windows XP".
Thank you!

I discovered that after I formated my HD and then installed Windows Server 2000... I had similar issues, until I found that ATI FAQ that tells everything http://www.ati.com/support/faq/tvfai...deoerror.html. I guess uninstalling terminal services on Windows Server 2003 should also do the trick - let me know!

PS: if that still doesn't work, then check if you're not using any remote control app or something that would grab the video overlay system.
I disabled Terminal Services service, but it's still no workie...
Any more ideas?

going back to some points earlier in this thread, the only way I was able to install cat drivers for my 7000 in my windows 2003 server box was to manually do so via hardware manager after enabling all acceleration etc. the setups wouldnt work correctly. everything runs fine.

Compatibility mode couldn't help? Perhaps it wasn't clear form the first post; it should be used on setup.exe in files extracted to C:\ATI\support. Hmm... I will update it to reflect that.

I am glad it worked for you anyway.

I suggest you to try Catalyst 4.2 - they have fixed couple of installation issues (at least for me). I will update the first post with information I have.

SmartGART (AGP Texture Acceleration) Disabled! :(

I'm running Windows Server 2003, and have a Sapphire 9800 Pro 128mb. My problem is that AGP Texture Acceleration is completely disabled, and my performance is crap because of it. In dxdiag, it is grayed out completely. I have no SmartGART tab. I even formatted the computer completely and loaded the 4.2 Catalyst drivers from scratch, to no avail. Anybody have any suggestions?

Big Grin

Must be one of the lucky guys, since i got no problems whatsoever, and by the way, if you do compatibility mode for XP on the main setup file of the catalyst driver (also the omega drivers) it installs fine, no need to extract the drivers first, at least it wasn't nessesary for me,

Since Catalyst 4.7, ATI setup displays "ATI Windows 2003 Driver"... nice improvement.
