Can someone please help me??

I have the problem with my driver. I try to uninstall the catalyst driver 3.8 before i install the 3.9 driver, but after I uninstall the 3.8 driver, I can't install the new driver.

Everytime the installation show error, saying that I have to set the display adapter to standard VGA before I can install. What can I do to solve this problem?? (other than formatting and reinstall driver) Thanks for helping!!

i have a 7500 that does the same damn thing....

I find that I have to install the motherboard driver (via in my case) in safe mode before I can install the adapter again....

I also have had to use driver cleaner in safe mode (after installing motherboard drivers) to get rid of the old shizzza..

good luck,

MG

did you try safe mode? unistall things first, dont try to install over the messed up files...

I recently had a problem like yours were my nVidia card wouldnt install... did the same thing.... would quit out to the desktop.... I couldnt fix it... even by deleting reg keys... The system was plain messed.... I had to repair windows off CD.

prolly have a messed up reg file for the windows installer....

if all else fails, DO the windows regular maintenance.... AND DUMP IT!

Its a sad but true fact that windows becomes irepairable.
