clock rate

well i just dled the omega drivers and oh wow... they are unbelieveable... i was using the catalyst 3.7 drivers but the 3.8 are supposed to come out today... oh ya i got 4910 on 3dmark with ati's drivers... w/ omega drivers i got 6227 ... i was like wow... at one point i was getting 845 fps... unreal compared to the 400 fps i was getting... but heres my question in the display properties for the omega drivers there is a tab for clock rates... i was wondering how i can find out the right numbers to use and run stable.. i am guessing someone is going to say ... trial and error??? oh ya i have the ati 9700 hehe this is with .... hacked 9800

System Specs

you answered yourself basically "trial & error"

first start with your ram increase 5mhz at a time then benchmark.if you see no artifacts or strange objects its ok.

just keep increasing 5mhz at a time then bench in that order when you start seeing objects on screen that should not be there go down to the point things were fine then leave at that.

then the same goes for the gpu clock. but general rule is go a little at a time.

people have different o/c rates that is because of cooling.good gpu heatsink & ram sinks etc.
