ATI Radeon 9700Pro results in AquaMark 3??
Hi all
I just got my self a nice Radeon9700Pro 128MB DDR and I have some questions!
1. In AquaMark´s ARC the results of systems just like mine are much higher than what I get?!? mine are around 24,500 and most of the submited results are around 34000 to 39000!!! (when i compare I set all the filters to "exact mach" And I carefuly checked them many times!
2. How much should a Card of this sort score in 3D Mark 2001/2003???
3. Code Creatures? GL Mark? UT2003? Halo?
Thise are many questions I know but I just want to know If there are some problems with my system or not!
My config is:
AthlonXP 2300MHz (11,5x200) (not PR)
GA-7NNXP
2x512MB DDR400
ATI Radeon 9700Pro 128DDR
Windows 2003 Server ( everything that should be set for desktop operation have been done including graphics acceleration)
Omega´s newest driver 9800moded (first time I tried with the Catalist 3.7 but no difference at all between the two (for me atleast)!!
I´m an nVidia user to the bones but after the fiasko with the FX series I went for this lets say Monster so is there something that I should know when installing ATI Drivers and everthing releated to it?
I hope that some of you will help me sleep tonight!
And please excuse my BAD English!

That score on aquamark is pretty low. Are you sure Anti aliasing is turned to application preference and anisotropic filtering is set to app pref too?...both in the direct3d part of the control panel.
The 3dm03 should be anywhere around 5000...possibly up a little higher. 01 should be about 14k
The others i'm not sure off the top of my head.
Welcome to the site, and enjoy your card

HELP!!!
I just formated and did a fresh install of the W2k3! Installed the nForce Drivers, DirectX 9, and finaly Omega´s Latest Driver!
The same low Aquamark 3 score - 245xx!!??!!??
Antialiasing and anisotropic filtering are at aplication preference!
My 3D Mark 2001 is indeed 144xx but in 2003 I get only 44xx!
There is notihng else installed in the system!
Any Ideas?

44xx doesn't sound like its too far from what it should be in 03.
My pc is sort of similar (2.4 p4 533FSB, 768MB DDR, stock 128MB 9700 Pro) and I get 4650 in 03. with cat3.7
orionbg don't expect your 2001 and 2003 scores to be similar - consider them to be on totally different scales.

I´m just seeing how much others with similar configs have scored!
I should be around 5000 and a little up! Just see Futurmark´s WEB site!
By the way I finaly found the cause of the BAD Aquamark 3 results!!! The Catalist(Omega too) driver doesn´t like Win 2k3! I just did a clean Install of Windows XP Pro and now I score 37xxx points! I don´t think that W2k3 is the cause because with GeForce 4Ti there were no such problems. FX6500 too.
So the only thing left now is to tweak my system!
By the way I´ve been brousing the forum and saw the ATI Drivers Installation Guide for noobs! Is realy nesesary to do all this registry editing and so on every time when installing new driver? Is there a program that does all this driver removal automaticaly?
Sorry for the questions but I have an ATI board for five days now and its my first ATI! I just want everything to be perfect!

When I bought my 9700np, at first I was a little disappointed about the results,
~8500 3dmarks in 2001 & ~3400 3dmarks in 2003
wich wasn't as it should be (even with my humble 1600xp on win2k)
that all changed when reading all the tips on this site, but also when I got rid of the very cheap PSU
which was standard in this cheap (rainbow)case, swapped it for a Qtec 550watt. and the points on 2001 are now 10780, so it could be your PSU isn't quit "up" to it.
goodluck with your 9700p

I´m using the MS IDE Drivers! The SW IDE doesn´t work for me and I don´t need it! My HDD is SATA
Hehe
then you need this driver
Download SATARAID and the latest SiI3x12 RAID drivers here
http://12.24.47.40/article.asp?article=10469&p=2
The latest Windows RAID driver for the SiI3x12A SATA Controller chip (3x12A_x86_win_rdrv-xxxxx.zip) can be downloaded from the links on the right. These drivers support Windows 98SE/ME/NT/2000/XP. Windows 95 is not supported.
Please NOTE that these are the latest GENERAL drivers that are available from Silicon Image. Some motherboard or add-in card makers may post versions with later revision numbers than the one shown here, but those are written specifically for their designs and are not intended for general use.
The latest version of Silicon Image SATARAID RAID Manager software is also attached on the right.

My Sillicon Image Controller is in RAID mode!!! And the newest RAID driver is 1.0.0.33
The 1.0.0.52 is for SATA only! No RAID!

It may sound stupid but NO I don´t have RAID setup!
My previous MOBO the A7N8X Deluxe was set to RAID and I thought that it will be best to keep the Sillicon Image Controller to RAID for compatibility, plus I´m going to add a second SATA HDD soon and then the RAID will come in handy!!
My HDD speed is pretty good so I don´t think that my slowdown in 3D is HDD releated. It is more of incompatibility between the Catalist drivers and Windows© Server 2003!!! (didn´t had such problems with Detonator and GF4Ti)
Have someone else tried this combo???
I like Server 2003 more than XP and only the Drivers for the VGA are stopping me using it!
"Why is Server 2003 better?" some may ask! Server 2003 is faster than XP, more reliable, better memory management and soo on! I´ll stop doing MS´s job of advertising!
