does omega driver make my 9800np a pro?

per the title, i've got an ati radeon 9800np. i want to oc it to see if i can get to pro level performance as it seems many folks can. i've read all about flashing to the 9800pro bios, but i'm wondering if i need to since i'm using the latest omega drivers. in the display control panel it reports my board as a 9800pro and i can overclock nicely, tho seemingly not quite to tru pro levels (but i'm not done testing yet).

so, in short, my question is, if i'm using the omega drivers to i still need to flash the bios of my 9800np card to reach 9800pro performance?

thanks in advance,

joe

Dunno if it's necassary I could O/C my non-Pro 9800 to 420/325 before I flashed it to the Pro BIOS. It's only got the 3.3ns RAM. However after flashing to the Pro BIOS, the modified one which clocks your card default at 380/317 I can actually overclock my memory higher than I could prior to the flash. Now I can get it up to 344. Perhaps increased RAM voltage on the pro core. Overall I'd reccomend the flash to the Pro.

Great glad that worked out for you. How high can you get your core/mem? Have you found your limit yet? Mine is 432/344 depending on the game really I start to get some artifacts at those speeds after palying for a while so I usually go to 425/337. Of course Halo is the only game which I HAVE to overclock for.
