9500-9700mod,help!!!
I've got a Granrandmars ATI powered radeon 9500 non pro(128m) and I'm trying to softmod it to 9700. I've tried 3 different omega drivers, v2460, v2478 and v2474, to no avail. Once installed I get a display setting of 640x480 and 16 colours. when I try to change these settings I just get a black screen. The best I've managed to get is 800x600 with 256 colours. Has anyone else exprienced this and managed to cure it or this just a case of my card not being able to run with the mod. I've also just noticed that I can get the mod to work if I turn down Hardware Acceleration in the Troubleshooting tab. However I need to knock it down 3 notches, If I go above I just get a black screen again. Can't play any games in this mode either. Any ideas? Is it worth formatting and trying a clean install of winXP?

Do a clean driver install
Try following the steps in the 'installing drivers for noobs' thread, it helped me with a smiliar problem.
