Latest ATI and NVIDIA VPU prototype

This is the latest Nvidia VPU and by looking at the PCB routing, only half of the core was connected

This is same as the ATI latest VPU, half of it is connected...

Both are using GDDR3 memory, speed range up to DDR 800MHz(1600MHz)!!!

Don't quite get why you think only half of the core has been connected. I'd imagine that running such high speed memory they went for a buried layer for the memory bus to avoid any noise problems. If you look at both boards there aren't many tracks coming from the core to the memory chips but I'd imagine that they will be in there somewhere (unless they have both come up with very novel hardware designs )
