exclamation HELP! Just bought 9800 PRO!

Hi

Just booted my FX5900 and got myself a SMEDIA ATI 9800 PRO - which Omega driver option do you choose when installing?

I have Soft Mod and normal option circling in my head! Which one should I use! My card is 9800 PRO

Thanks

I would go normal, The other one I believe is just for people with the 9500/9700 cards.
Your's is already a pro card, just run the normal set.

well I hope it works out OK for you... suppose you have about a 50/50 chance of no driver conflict with old nvidia junk left behind.... though honestly, I think you will not see full performance until you reinstall windows. Just my $.02.

it would be a good idea anyhow to have your stuff backed up should mr. sudden death hdd come a knockin.... Good luck mitchelson!

Well give driver cleaner a go, But why he told you that is because you could have some of the nvidia drivers sticking around in places, and it could very well give you problems with your 9800 Pro. Like poor performance And then you'll think the 9800 Pro isn't worth a darn
But as far as reformatting, Its a good idea to make back ups of things you want to keep and reformat about every 6 months or so.
Keeps everything fresh
