Mobility Drivers?

Hi, I have a laptop that runs an ATI IGP 320m (basically an underclocked Radeon 7000). The drivers supplied by Compaq are like a half year old or something and they have trouble running some of the newer games. I then came across this site and tried Patje's Mobile mod as well as Omega's drivers. They work fine except 3d games in windowed mode are extremely choppy but once I full screen them, Their fine. This is bareable since I run most 3d games full screen anyways, but the main probelm is with Warcraft 3 World editor. There is no way to run this is full screen mode and 3d is too choppy. Has anyone else experienced this probelm? or knows a solution to fix it?

IGP cards are basically crippled - hence they're cheap for laptops. Bottom line - 3D sucks blows and chews with IGP

My next laptop will have a decent 3D GPU - but I won't be buying one for some time

Windowed mode causes choppyness in all computers, just in underpowered computer situations like yours its most especially noticable. I don't know of a solution, myself, but I'll look into it. No promises, but now my interest is a bit piqued

Is there anyway I can upgrade my laptop video card to like an ATI 9000 series or something? I know Alienware Laptops use Radeon 9000s and they say the video card is upgradable.

The simple answer is no - the alienware ones advertise that since other laptops that don't have the radeon 9000 aren't upgradable... email your manufacturer, though, there is a chance you can though
