It doesn't matter. I have the exact same options with Omega's CAT 3.7s as I do with this screen. I could post it if you want proof, but, I did just install them again to double check.

EDIT: Ohhhhh.....OK. So, your card won't show the option per the above post.

I just tested these drivers out (9700p to 9800p Omegas) w/ jedi academy and Call of Duty demo's- they work great- look great, and they are very fast compared to regular 3.7's - on my rig. I even have fast writes on- just to test it out, and I get a small performance boost (again, may be different /w different mb/ cpu / ram / chipset combo)

Yeap, I'm having the same problem with my Dell 8100 + XP Pro SP1 with the Mobility 7500
- weird as the 2.4.74a installed fine

Yeah, you will lose points in those benchmarks. But why does that matter? About 2 months ago I came to the conclusion that those benchmarks are bs. How? I did a comparison between me and someone who had a score 300 points higher than mine. I beat him in EVERYTHING by quite a lot except for the PS 2.0 test and that is how he beat me. I do not know about you but I found that to be quite idiotic. SO I removed all of the programs and removed all of my compare URL's.

As far as I knew, the pixel shader does not affect the 3dmark2k3 scores. I ESC out of the benchmark after the nature scene completes, and before the cpu tests to save time between benchies and I get a benchmark score.

Dell 8100 + 7500 work finest with 2.4.74 (without a) ... but just try to deactivate Z32 buffer ...

ONLY the game tests count for the score- that's why. It generates the score on an algorithm of all the game test scores, I think some have more weight than others.

The reason why they are BS is not because of that- it's because the graphic card companies have, in the past, made specific optimizations for the particular test (3dmrk01 and 03)- I guess most of the optimizations are supposed to be gone now, but I personally doubt it. They are still a good reference, especially 3dmark 01 for cpu/ memory subsystem measurement. But you are right in the fact that you shouldn't throw away an awesome driver because you lose a few points in any synthetic benchmark. These are pretty good drivers.

Well, 32bit z-buffer takes more bandwidth and memory from the card, plus there is almost no real advantages for a 32BZB since a 24BZB can do almost the same and with much less memory, 32BZB is mostly used for flight simulators and games that have a very long terrain view, 32BZB prevents far objects from having polygon pop-up issues and other graphical consequences. That was MS's decision for Dx9, so ATI had to comply...

stevec & lgoicalrealist: I'm looking into it to see what happened as the mobility support was moved from the previous set to this untouched, so it should basically be working, in the meantime, try installing the driver through the device manager, if that doesn't work, let me know...

Sorry, what I am referring to is the Nature scene which uses the DX9 instruction set. I have an issue with just ONE part of the test being the whole score of the benchmark. It is junk as far as I am concerned.

Of course is better, but there are just a few games that support it, and those games will use 24bit if 32bit is not found. ATI removed it for newer cards because it saves bandwidth, and all games done recently have only 24BZB support (thanks in part by nvidia, since they NEVER added 32BZB support for their cards).
You can see the performance hit by running 3dmark2k1 with 32bit Z ON and then 24bit Z.

ScuMM, that's why I separated them, most 9500 cards won't work with the 9800 optimizations and will have dispaly errors.

Robert McClelland, to increase some speed on lower cards I'll be disabling 32BZB by default in the next release.
