That 9800 Hack question again!

Installed Omegas 2.4.74a and selected 9800 hack option for my Sapphire Atlantis Radeon 9700 Pro.

Still reported as 9700 in options tab. This was the same with previous Omega driver version. Is the hack actually working or do have to install it the old way. (replacing ATI2MTAG.SYS before installation) ??

This question exists in various forms all over DH forums but when I look for a thread I cannot find due to Sod's Law. Therefore this new thread.

Onw other niggle is DUAL monitors. Omega seems to install SECONDARY in PRIMARY slot. I'm using single monitor at the moment as my rig is on location but I notice SECONDARY is again above PRIMARY in DEVICE MANAGER / DISPLAY ADAPTERS

SECONDARY: is in PCI bus 1 Device 0, Function 1
PRIMARY : is in PCI bus 1 Device 0, Function 0

ATI cats will show same bus device and function but the PRIMARY will be above SECONDARY.
Under Omegas 2.4.nn IDENTIFY always gives correct result but I've then had odd results when accessing CP. Sometimes SECONDARY has all the tabs for PRIMARY and PRIMARY reports itself as SECONDARY. Confused? you will be! All very odd.

Should I even worry?

Back to thread topic. Has Sticky posted a 9800 hack guide by any chance?

It says SmoothVision II

Options TAB reports 9700 Chip
Adapter TAB reports 9800 (0x44E) Edit

Options also reports Catalyst 3.6 (omega)
