Pissed 1600x1200@75Hz not working on R8500 and R9800 on a monitor that supports it...

Hello,

As I reported in the past, I had problems using 1600x1200@75Hz on my previous R8500. The original thread is here: Problems setting 1600x1200@75Hz with R8500, help !

Now I upgraded for a R9800, and I have the same issue.

When I select 1600x1200 on drivers, it hides the 75Hz option. When I select to show unsupported modes, and select 1600x1200@75Hz the screen goes standby, but NOT out of frequency range (the monitor always shows a message that it's out of frequency range when it is).

I tested this monitor in 3 other nvidia cards, and with this 3 cards it worked flawlessy.

I tried disabling DCC on monitor, on drivers or in both, selecting the according refresh rate, but it don't works also.

I can use this resolution/refresh rate only using Power Strip. I tried Rage3d tweaker without sucess. But using Power Strip (version 3.40) I get some vsync errors, and texture tearing at the top of the screen in any resolution.

Please help me. This issue happens in Windows 98 and XP (but in 98 it shows the 75Hz option), and it's a driver bug. I've contacted ATI technical support, and they said me that for some reason the card can't read the DCC of the monitor, and that's why 1600x1200@75Hz isn't working (but if I disabled DCC, where is the reason for it don't work ? ).

[EDIT] The monitor is a LG Studioworks 995E. Max supported resolution is 1600x1200@75Hz, max horizontal refresh rate is 93.8 kHz.

In your monitor driver properties, update the driver to one that supports over 1900 resolution. Try the Sony cpd g500 series driver. Then make sure as you have before, uncheck hide refresh rates.
