Is there a way that I can image to resolution? I have a 15.4" Widescreen laptop from Dell, and I disabled the widescreen by Disabling Scale to panel size and changed resolution to 1024 X 768 for my Desktop. Now I have a 1024X 768 Desktop empty borders on the left and right side, which is fine for me. When I play Half-Life Counter Strike, I have my resolution in the game to be 800X600, which is small. I want my laptop to stretch it to fit my 1024X768 desktop resolution whenever I play instead of stretching it to the panel size. If I choose 1024X768 for HL Counter Strike, it's sluggish, but it will be 1024X768.
Is there a setting to stretch the resolution whenever im in a game to my desktop resolution rather than stretching it to the widescreen panel? I contacted Dell about this and here was their response: "There are three video modes for viewing a standard 4:3 aspect ratio resolution with these wide screen (16:10 aspect ratio) panels; 1. Full screen stretched (The image is scaled to the panel size. The horizontal stretching is slightly more than the vertical, so there will be some minor distortion). 2. Full screen unstretched (The image keeps the 4:3 aspect ratio and there are black sidebands). 3. Unstretched (The image will appear in the center of the screen, with a black border on all sides. The size of the image depends on the resolution used; smaller resolutions will result in a smaller image. No interpolation or stretching used in this mode). The NVIDIA GeForce 4 4200 Go supports all 3 modes. The ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 currently only supports modes 1 and 3. Hopefully a future driver revision for the ATI will include support for all 3." I was wondering if stretching to resolution is possible with Omega drivers? If not, is it possible to be implemented into the Omega drivers rather than waiting for Dell to release it. Oh ya, I have a ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 32 MB. |
