Hey Zardon
I imagine your most likely beta testing the 3.6 cats by now. I'm wondering if they fix the smartgart problem with the nforce 2 chipsets where you have to disable fast-writes(in smartgart) to get sideband addressing enabled? If not do you know if Ati's looking into it ? Would love to try having both enabled like I could with my via chipsets . Not bitchin just curious, Ati has been doing a fantastic job with their Cat's every release has been great for me in both iq and performance.

HI,
I doubt Zardon can comment on any changes in the new beta's, all beta testers had to sign an NDA.
If you want to raise awareness of any issue you are experiencing please make sure you complete this form:

Thanks
Stu

To answer your question....
It isn't an ATI problem that sideband addressing isn't enabled on the nForce 2 chipsets...it is a nVidia chipset drivers probem. nVidia needs to release some better chipset drivers so that one can enable both features.
If you don't believe me, uninstall you Catalyst drivers and check to see if sideband is enabled.....you will notice that it is still disabled without catalyst drivers installed.
Enough said.
