Can I make my AIW 9700 become a 9800 with omegas 3.4????

I just got a AIW 9700 PRO and I need to know if I can use the hacked driver of omegas 3.4 that is used to transform common 9700 pro in 9800. Is it possible my AIW 9700 increase its performace like the common 9700 pro? After the instalation the driver name wil appear lke 9800 or continues 9700 pro?

Yes, I believe so, if you select 'hacked' drivers during installation.

I suggest you back up your system, if you're in XP set a restore point, then install the hacked drivers, reboot, and see if the hack worked - if it did, then you know that the AIW card can go from 9700->9800, and if it doesn't work properly or you don't get an increase in performance, then you can just restore your system back to how it was beforehand without loosing anything...

I installed the hacked drivers, my card still named Aiw 9700 Pro, the performace in 3dmark 2003 increased 70 points.. and i could ran Chimp 9800 ' s demo ....

This demo.. Chimp only wors in 9800 right?

Nah, I ran the chimp demo once it came out, they will run on any 9500 or higher Ati card even though its suppose to be fore 9800

not sure u can hack it or not, butu can just simply oc ur 9700. but u will need additional cooling parts. my friend has a overclocked 9700pro. and it goes as fast as mine.

I think the 9700 -> 9800 Tweak he is talking about is optimization in the catalyst drivers, tweaks and such that work with teh 9700 and 9500 but aren't implemented unless you hack the drivers, making it seem like a 9800

yes, im talking about the hacked drives with omegas

i have 2 questions:

- If the hack driver worked.. it should apeear 9800 or continues 9700?

- The demo Chimp... Is just for 9800? Because when was with the ati original drivers didint work the demo.. after omegas hacked driver chimo worked!

Card still appears as a 9700, however in adapter tab, says chip is 9800. This does NOT magically turn ur card into a 9800, just renders things differently or something along those lines.
