ATI Radeon HD 4670 512mb Vista/XP

Hi guys I`m speccing a cheap gaming pc for a mate (from overclockers)

it includes the above gfx card or a geforce 8800GT.
The radeon is DirectX10 but does that really matter yet ?
is vista/directx10 worth it or is the answer to stick with XP/directx9

I`m guessing Directx10 has a performance hit or what ?

any quick thoughts ?

thanks

Re: ATI Radeon HD 4670 512mb Vista/XP

More and more games uses DX10 and soon enough they will use DX10.1 or even DX11 so to make things last longer, eventually games will arrive that doesn't work well witl DX9, it will be important.

Though, I'm running XP for now and haven't had any problems yet but I will move to vista or new windows 7 when it arrives.. XP is nice but it wont be supported forever and it won't ever support more than DX9.
