Re: Official waiting on new AGP drivers for 2000 and 3000 series cards.
I am waiting too for the AGP drivers for my HD 3850. Think I am going to make some spy drones for their offices. Not that Intel hasn't already. LOL

Re: Official waiting on new AGP drivers for 2000 and 3000 series cards.
I used these after I added the device ID for my card. It's a hotfix but not for AGP.
http://support.ati.com/ics/support/K...estionID=38664 Instructions to modify for your specific card: Download and run the file. When they extract to your hard drive at C:\ati\support copy and paste to another location where you can make the changes. When you get to the part to perform a normal or custom install, they are on your drive. Windows XP/MCE Example for my card: Device ID is: PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9515&SUBSYS_00281787 Go to: C:\ATI\Support\[Current Version]\Driver\CX_*****.INI and C:\ATI\Support\[Current Version]\Driver\XP_INF\CX_*****.INI Change all lines 3850 to: (Go to "Edit" then 3850 or whatever your card is in the blank field, then select Find Next or F3) Add this line for my card: "ATI Radeon HD 3850 " = ati2mtag_RV630, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9515&SUBSYS_00281787 Then go to: C:\ATI\SUPPORT\[Current Version]\Driver\Driver\INSTALL.INI R6_30=DriverPath_R6_30 and change the 9505:0x****** to 9515:0x00281787 Just change the specifics to fit your card. Maybe others are interested also.

Guys, just install them manually. Download the 8.11s and install like normal. When you get the message "Device not found, set up exiting", or something like that, go to the ATI folder in your C drive, go to a previous driver version that worked. Go to XP_INF, go to CX_XXXXX, and copy and paste your video card name and ID, which should be on the same line.
Go to the 8.11 folder and find CX_XXXXX. Find the part where the device names and IDs are found, make a space and copy and paste your video card name and ID. Save. Uninstall your current driver through the control panel under add/remove programs. Reboot and go to My Computer, then Device manager and install manually. Find the CX_XXXXX folder in the 8.11s and install. ATI already said in one of my previous threads it's the same driver as the hotfix. Farcry 2 kicks ass with the 8.11s. Good Luck and Cheers. Edit: Make sure you reboot again after install.

We are still having technical difficulties getting the AGP hotfix updated along with the main catalyst update. (I keep telling "houston we have a problem ", but so far no long lasting effect. ) Maybe for next Catalyst, so you guys can find a new issue to discuss ;-) |

Look forward to it CC. Otherwise, the 8.10 AGP-HF seems to be working perfectly here, thanks for your support!
