Am I doing this right?

Hello folks
Got the latest Omega drivers today. I am trying to overclock my macbook pros x1600 a little bit. Just a bit. I dragged the corespeed from 475 to 540, and the memory up a bit. Now the memory is at 472, instead of the default 475. why? I am running a few fps faster in the game so I want to ask - am I doing this right? And is it safe to run a card overclocked for a few hours?

Many thanks..very new to this!

in a laptop, I wouldnt overclock a video card no, unless the chassis was one of the larger 17 inch ones with good cooling, even then im not sure I would recommend it. The thermal dynamics in a laptop environment are normally quite tight.

What game are you testing?

Yeah, be careful. I have one too, and as you already know, the machine runs hot anyway. While gaming, the machine runs at the edge of its thermal envelope - that's why Apple purposefully underclocked the X1600 in that machine from the factory.

I've actually had to replace both the fans already - but otherwise a solid machine...
