NO AGP ACCELERATION ! PowerColor x1950pro

hello!!
lost my nerves for next 20 years definitly !!! tried at least 10 catalyst and omega drivers but CAN'T GET AGP READ/WRITE turned on .
so in DXDIAG my AGP ACCELERATION is turned off !!
in BIOS FW is on and agp set at 8x.
realy dont know what can i do more.
i have realy crapy PSU is this maybe reason ?
i also updated SiS AGP drivers but they are to old and newer they didnt release.
Before this card i got x1600pro and everything worked ok !

is it posible that some extra-turbo-strange solution egzist??

Have you tried looking for the driver for your card/OS combination on POWERCOLOR's site?

From what I sawthere , POWERCOLOR is recommending the 7.2s for both XP and Vista. Might not be a bad idea to follow their recommendation to start with, and go from there.

One thing worth noting is that some of the later Cat's do not 'play nice' with some AGP cards. I don't remember if the X1950 is one of them or not.

Also, a bit more info on your system would help.
OS, Mainboard, CPU, RAM, PSU, over-clocked or not, etc.

Looks like AGP support is PERMANENTLY disconnected from the mainstream "unified" Catalyst driver, appearing as a hotfix driver for the past how many?

I had a similar issue with my AGP X850 when I bought a new motherboard about a year ago. It was a MSI K9MM-V with a VIA chipset.

I started with trying out XP 64 but could never get the AGP to initialise so it only worked in PCI mode. In XP 32 I could get AGP up to 4x at most and never Read/Write to work. Even then it wasn't stable in any way.

It didn't matter how many drivers I tried. I had to return the motherboard and get another one.

So, some hardwares just doesn't work well together.

I've also heard many say that with the old X-series of cards there is no point in going beyond the 7.11 drivers, especially for the AGP versions.

So, knowing what hardware you have is crucial to be able to suggest what's the cause.

100% SAME THING HAPPENS TO ME !!
now at least i know that motherboard is guilty (ASUS P4S800)!
i will try to replace motherboard with some other ..

It wouldn't hurt get 2600pro AGP 512meg card from online at best buy it's still cheap for 64 bucks

A quick question for all those having this issue: have any of you tried to reinstall your motherboards chipset drivers before and/or after installing the video drivers?
