Now I'm using Omega 3.4 driver, but I notice that the D3D games seem to be darker than the 3.2 driver. I have reseted ALL the settings to defaults. This happens on both windowed games and full screen games. The desktop looks all right, and I haven't tried any OpenGL games yet.
My card is powered by ATI Radeon 9500 64MB. I'm not using any 9500 cracks or any tweaks. |

yeh, noticed it too
I compinsated a bit, use powerstrip to OC, got an 8500 128 and it runs smooth as butter so I can't complain, I would hestitate to do too much though. be cautious with most anything but color, have fun...16 bit or 32 bit you will have fun..

you gotta give us more info than this to go on.
What are your system specs? Do you have the correct driver for your monitor? Have you looked for new monitor drivers? |

I have to admit that this is true, and I have been noticing it for a while, with each driver release I have seen an increased darkness for each release, and I'm talking since a lot of time before the Catalyst.
In the beginning my monitor had a picture gamma of 1.0, so I only had to increase the brightness a little on the monitor controls to get perfect quality, now I have had to increase to 1.40 gamma correction just to get to the right spot, while leaving the monitor controls at the same level I have always had them. Is ATI doing this to increase color contrast? Who knows... Maybe they are using a defective monitor to test the gamma level Anyway, yes, you'll have to use the gamma correction slider that comes with the ATI control panel to get the best picture posible for games and desktop. |

Why doesn't ATI just give us a COLOR SATURATION CONTROL like the digital vibrance for Nvidia? I thought that is what we were going to get with the new cat 3.4's- I Guess I was wrong, there is absolutely nothing new w/ the color control in the new cats- nothing that even remotely compares to digital vibrance- All the individual gamma controls for color is useless, doesn't compare to a color saturation control, which I have noticed ATI card desperately need.
