ATT and Xpress 200 cards

Pretty dinosaur-ish question but here goes anyways,

Tried to use ATT with my system. Installed it but as soon as the installation was finished, I was flashed with the blue screen of death, restarted and met again with the screen. I restarted in safe mode, uninstalled ATT and things seem to be working normally again. I found out later that apparently ATT does not support Xpress series cards so is there any other way I can go about improving performance aside from buying a whole new system?

My current specs
Make/Model: HP Presario R4100
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 3500+ (2.2GHz)
System Memory: 1.5 GB
Video Card: ATI Mobility Radeon Xpress 200 128mb
O/S: Windows XP service pack 2

any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated
