Radeon Omega Drivers 2.4.43 for Win2k/XP
Here they are, almost the same day as ATI drivers, and better than ever...
What's New?
* Based on the official Catalyst 3.4 ATI drivers. (9x/ME/2k/XP)
* Added support for the following chipsets: (9x/ME/2k/XP)
Radeon 9200
Radeon 9200 Pro
Radeon 9800
Radeon 9800 Pro
* Removed names for specific cards (Tyan, Gigabyte, etc.), now they all have a common name (9700, 9500, etc.) (9x/ME/2k/XP)
* Removed support for Mobility cards in the 2k/XP drivers, those of you that need support for mobility cards please use Patje's Mobility Modder utility to add support. The utility can be found here: http://www.driverheaven.net/patje/
* Updated all included utilities to most recent versions. (2k/XP)
* Added an Overclocking utility for all cards, can be found in the ATI Control Panel, it's a new tab. (2k/XP)
* Added the Advanced SmartGart options, can be found in the folder created by my drivers in the Start Menu. (9x/ME/2k/XP)
* The 9500->9700 and 9700->9800 hack is included and can be selected during the installation process, but now is better explained, easier for newbies. (9x/ME/2k/XP)
* The installer has been updated with more accurate information on all the areas, including the readme and options description. (9x/ME/2k/XP)
Just go to my site, download and enjoy!
God bless you all!!!

Elias2k, I'm investigating that, since I know the hack is installed, but the CP is not showing SM2.1, but is indeed working.

Great work again Omega! You are making a believer outta me man.
The games I have tested so far, F1 2002 (2003) and Rallisport are a few frames up. (3-10)
IQ is great as always.
I know you make these drivers optimized for games and not benchmarks, but
I had a 350 point increase in 3DMark03!!!
(My CPU is still a bottleneck, but of course that's not your fault. Heh.)
One thing though, and I saw someone else mention it, the CP does say
Smoothvision II instead of 2.1. I did choose to install the 9700--->9800 hack
but nothing else. I'm not really into overclocking all that much.
I see you are working on this small issue already, so...
Again, great job.
Peace up.

How do these new drivers compare to the previous Omega ones? Anyone that tested them, yet?

My previous post about 3 inches above or one page back depending on your board settings
gave some performance comparisons between the Omega 2407a's and the 2443's.
I guess I wasn't detailed enough. I have been using Omega drivers for going on 7-8 weeks now.
Highly recommended.

Need Driver Info
Hello...
I hope you respond coz this thing bothers me a little...
I don't know about software programming much, but my question is this.
First, I use Cat 3.4 + Rage3DTweak, and have no problem.
I'm tempted to use your driver...
My question is: What are they? What they do? Will they help my games and in what way? What are these hacks and will they work on my board?
My System is: Built by ATI Radeon 9500PRO, ATHLON XP 2700, 256x2 (512MB) DDR400 - that's what counts..ehh?
Anyways, Thanks alot!
Idan.

Nice Job!
This version does work smoothly than any older drivers. Although the 3D Mark 2001's score is just the same as the previous version, the games run rather smoothly. And omega's wonderful tools included in this driver make the card fast and stable.
It's GREAT! Thank for Omega!!!

May have run into a small glitch.
I have your new 2.4.43 drivers installed Omega.
Upon re-booting my PC, because I had re-installed my Virus software,
the screen hung up, with no toolbar or icons showing, just the wallpaper.
In the middle of the wallpaper was the Advanced SmartGart Menu.
I closed that, and then got the "Windows XP has recovered from a serious error...blah blah"
I went ahead and sent the error report, which displayed the dialog box pictured in the link.
I'll put up the link in just a second.
Another thing, I went into my Program Files, and went into the new Omega driver folder
In the WinXPInfo subfolder, I saw the folders for Standard Driver, and another folder for
Hacked Driver. These two folders were seperate, and not in the same area as the driver files.
My specs are in my sig.
Thanks.

Omega, I have a "Stupid question" I installed your new drivers for the first time! And I must say I like them. Now for my question, I have a 9500Pro that I fashed my bios on so that I can over clock it. Which set of your drivers should I use the regular ones or the hacked ones? Right now I'm useing the regular 9500/9700 drivers. With no problems at all But will the hacked ones work any better with the 9500 Pro thats had the bios flashed?
Thanks.

Why not mobility support :/
I've used old Omega drivers for my ASUS Notebook, they worked fine, please bring back mobility support.

Just a couple of other things...
I disabled Fastwrites, rebooted, and then went into F12002. The framerate was really jerky.
Naturally I turned them back on, and got good FPS again. I onlymention this because you
recommend to turn them off. On my PC they work much better on.
Finally, in the Program files I now have 2 folders:
The Omega 2407a's and the other folder the new 2.4.43's
Both seperate Program Folders/Files.
Can I delete the old 2407a folder with no il-effects?

Ok, this may be a stupid question, but how do you use the 9700->9800 hack? I selected the "hack" version of the drivers when I installed, but my card still shows up as a 9700 Pro. Is that the way it's supposed to work? There doesn't seem to be anything about it in the Omega 2.4.4.3 readme and I couldn't find any info on this forum either....very confused by the vagueness. Thanks in advance.
