Anyone else???

Just uninstall your drivers and try again...

I have done it like 3 times. Althought before I install the hacked drivers, I dont uninstall the old drivers. Is that something that you HAVE to do? I uninstalled the control panel but thats all.

Will clicking defaults in the control panel mess around with any of your settings omega? Reason I'm asking is that I've done some dabling around with different settings and want to put it back to the way it was originally. Thanks

i think it´s normal to loose the nic for a short time after installing directx. but normally the nic should be found again immediatelly from system after loosing it.

ok here i am:
winxp pro sp1
p4 2,4 Ghz
asus p4pe
512mb infineon ram cl 2,5
sb live 5.1
sapphire radeon 9100 128mb
dell fp1800 over dvi
80 gig wd 8mb cache
...
so completely different systems.
i think it is a directx related problem, or maybe an incompatibility with an microsoft winxp patch. on my fresh installed system these drivers worked perfect. but after updating directx and installing all patches from microsoft the problem was the same. i also rezised a partition with pm8, but don´t think this is related to this bug (i call it bug, because i think it is one!)
i tried this drivers under the same hardware with win2003 server. also installed directx 9.0a. maybe ms xp-patches cause this problem.
now i switched back to old omegas and wait for a fixed version of this driver.
@catalyst maker
sorry but i think your drivers are buggy!!

Well after having a weird experience the first time I loaded these drivers, 3dmark03 ran like before with the ATI drivers and the softmod hack.. however I lost mega preformance in 2k1se.. back to my ti4200 preformace to be exact.. so I did a complete cleaning of all the drivers and files.. (it's been a while since I last owned an ATI card, 8500) after this was done I re-installed the Omega's and things look great.. lost about 300pts in 2k1se and came in the same on 03 as the previous drivers I was using.. but the Image quality looks great.. I shall keep these installed..

Maybe I haven't read these forums carefully enough, but why was the mobility support removed?

Tip for future Omega releases: computer non-nOObs often like to know the details of what something (especially 3rd-party-altered drivers) does before installing it .
Thanks.

No FSAA on Omega 3.4s
Having a minor (ok, major) problem with the new Omega drivers - after installation FSAA does not work in any games. Rolling back to Catalyst 3.4 and everything works fine. I've tried disabling FSAA, rebooting, and enabling again - no go. I've tried with several games (Rainbow 6, Unreal II, Vampire), all run fine, but without AA. As suggested earlier in this thread, I've also tried uninstalling the ATI control panel before installing the Omega drivers (using the hacked version by the way). Has anyone else seen something similar?
System Specs:
MSI K7 Master (AMD 760)
AMD Athlon XP2100+
512Mb DDR SDROM
Saphire Radeon 9700Pro
Dual screens (one LCD, one CRT)
I'll be doing a major system upgrade shortly, so hopefully this will not be an issue after the rebuild. Any ideas? Thanks......

Luddite. FSAA makes games look really smooth and almost photorealistic. Something wrong with your eyes if you cannot see the difference.
You say you didn't notice a problem then say you never use it. Duhh!!

I installed it even with all of the software and drivers uninstalled, but still the error ... I'm using an old 7200 ...
Sorry for my english btw ...

I get this error too, I have a mobility 9000. and winxp sp1.
the title is like TITLE_MAIN_WINXP and the titlebar is TITLE_CAPTIONBAR_WINXP
it copies the files and then I get another red X, then a MESSAGE_SMARTGART_WARNING in an info window (white comictalk-bubble with an i inside). then it exits.
then it would seem like the driver is installed, however when I go to advanced in the control panel I get "Could not open connection to RadProbe 028" and "Radprobe failed" and I have no ati control panel!
UPDATE: changing to english did the trick. however i still have no control panel, get that RadProbe error... any ideas ?!

I had complained and got this same problem resolved a few posts before, in this very thread. You guys just have to do a search, or read this tread.

Just tested it out. Looks fine except for one potential problem. When I installed the driver my Radeon 9500 128mb (non-pro) was classified with a 9800 chipset, not a 9700 (which I was under the assumption was supposed to be installed). While it might not be a problem for most people, at a 317.3/297 clock my Radeon overheats (artifacts are quickly present) when the driver has the 9800 hack. With the 9700 hack (the w1zzard hack I've been using up until now) everything was flawless. So, to shorten it up: Is it possible for the next set of Omega ATi Drivers to have a choice during the install process to pick between the 9700 hack and the 9800 hack? Just a friendly observation. Good work

Almost works...
I just got my R9500NP with the correct layout and stuff.
- Installed Cat 3.4 (without the control panel of course)
- Installed hacked Omega drivers on top of the cats
So far so good... everything seemed to work. Nice results with 3DMark01. Fill rates doubled and no artifacts. Ran also the artifact test successfully. Was almost jumping of joy..
But...
Then I ran 3DMark2003 (shouldn't have done it, I would still be happy). It went nicely until Mother Nature... BOOM. Checkermarks! Only in water and sky, but anyway frustrating and annoying. Then next, in Pixel Shader test, the elephants had nice checkermark coating all over them... So checkermarks appeared only in these two tests.
Why oh why? I thought checkermarks are there all the time if the 4 extra pipelines don't work.
Or maybe I just have to live with a "basic card" or some checkermarks... luckily all games I tried looked good, like Counter-Strike, Summoner and Freelancer.
Is there anything I could try out?

Same problem. Tried with 98se and winxp. A lot of error boxes with red cross and the smartgart warning.
My OS is italian.
If I add English support and set it to default maybe I can install them without errors right?
But what about 98SE?
In device manager should I see 9700 or 9800?
I have a 9700pro and I'm installing hacked omega drivers.

Your xp are default italian language? If so try putting english as your primary language. My xp instalation are english, but primary language are portuguese. I only could install Omegas properly after reverting my primary language to english, it should work. Oh, and this is the second time I do explain this! Do a proper search next time, don't exploit my cuore di mama!

Ok. I have read all the thread before posting.
My doubt is because my OS are not english, but italian. Not the added languages, but the installation itself.
I have to add english support and then set it to default.
Ideas about 98se?

Yes, just put your language to english, it wil not change anything visualy, but Omega should work with it. No, I don't know what to do with win98, I don't see win98 running at long time, 4 years I think...
