System Specs

Pissed Powercolor HD2600 Pro 512MB AGP

Hello, I've been at this for 2 days and yet to get it working.
Harware ID:
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9587&SUBSYS_00281787&REV_00
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9587&SUBSYS_00281787
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9587&CC_30000
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9587&CC_300

When I install Omegadriver 4.8.442 using the setup and rebooting, I get black screen after Win XP Logo. When I do manual install and the display drivers gets close to the end, the screen goes black and a flashing _ appears. I've tried drivers from ATi as well, with same results.

Full system specs are listed on my profile but here is the basics.

2.0 Intel P4
D850BG Intel Mobo
1.5GB pc800 RDRAM
AGP 4x (1.5V)

This is my backup for my laptop that has to go in for repairs and the HD 2600 is replacing a GF 5600XT 256MB that fried. I just need to find something so I can continue playing WoW for the 6 or 8 weeks laptop will be gone. Any and all help is much appreciated.

I have the exact same problem with my card (HIS Radeon HD 2600 XT 512MB AGP).

I've updated my mobo drivers, tried the omega drivers (newest and an old version), changed my aperture size to 512MB, used driver cleaner to clear out any old drivers.

I noticed by using services.msc that the .NET framework service will not initialize on startup although I have set it to start automatically. Not sure if that makes a difference or is normal or not.

Anyways, I'd really appreciate it if you could lend any information!

Thanks.

Well Tony, I'm afraid I have disappointing news for you. I sent my card back for a refund and bought an 7600GS 256Mb AGP. Here is the link to the reason why. Graphics Card Help Please

Did you try the 8.4 or 8.5 hotfix drivers? They support the agp cards.
