8.4 hotfix + Gecube driver insta-crash!

Hey every1,
im "running" an HD2600 512 AGP by GeCube for quite some time, and the oddest thing is the only drivers worked with it are the old 7.12 omegas, and when i say 'work' i mean literally work!
the gecube made driver pack based on 8.3 install smooth on the system (XP32bit) but when i start a game, any game using D3D - 2secs later BSOD total lost

at that point the new 8.4 hotfix for agp got out -> same results.
I have to say that the omegas are stable but doesnt pack a punch on this card for its hybrid AGP bridge construct.

Any1 have any tips or can confirm/disconfirm what i encountered?
